Muriel has always followed her passions: first for higher learning which led her to pursue a Master’s in Psychology in Education at Columbia University in 2015; then, for volunteering her efforts to help develop New York City’s environment and underserved youth, specifically in Harlem; and finally for yoga, which eventually led her home to Laughing Lotus, where she discovered Lotus Flow and Ayurveda. Muriel completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at Lotus in 2016. With a master’s degree in Spirituality, Mind and Body, Muriel loves to infuse her classes with themes that arise from her studies in psychology and her training in yoga therapy and as a Reiki practitioner, which includes launching a “Kindness Club” for middle schoolers at a community garden in Harlem. She is continually inspired by how these practices bring people together and create community. She believes deeply that the practices of yoga, mindfulness and intention can teach us to live our lives with balance, and grace, if we are willing to do the work.
As a native New Yorker, Muriel is thrilled to bring her passions to Green Generations and give back to children in the public school system.
